Chapter 168: A Tumble Ahead

"Should we stop? They've done a good job." A tabby cat Patronus appeared silently beside Dumbledore and his companions, and McGonagall's voice came from within.

Hermione shook her head: "This is just the beginning. They still have capacity. We can observe further."

The tabby cat disappeared, and the three on this side of the cliff fell silent once again.

At the bottom of the canyon, a continuous rumbling sound emanated, but neither Hermione nor Dumbledore paid much attention to it.

Even without the help of wizards, the basilisk had most of its death stare problem solved, so even though Lockhart had a different soul and was weaker, survival shouldn't be an issue.

"We can't keep playing defensively! We need to find an opportunity!" Harry shouted, even just breaking the spell would take a toll on his strength.

Taking advantage of deflecting a vicious gut-ripping curse, he rolled out of Ron's protective range: "Plan B!"

Neville followed closely behind from the other side, while Ron charged forward, shield and wand aloft.

On either side, Nawei used medicinal mist in conjunction with his somewhat clumsy manipulation of swirling clouds to create a wall of fog that obscured their vision.

It circled in a semi-circle and charged toward Alecto as well.

Unlike Neville, who carried the cheap eliminator spray he bought from Hermione, Harry slammed his chain into the ground and then used Transfiguration to turn the dust into glittering sequins that he blew toward Alecto. He then hid behind the dust and charged forward. Of the three, only his Transfiguration was practically usable in combat.

Despite being attacked from three directions by three children, Alecto remained calm.

Clearly, Harry was the main attacker; the invisible chains were so powerful that even her full-force Ironclad Charm couldn't withstand them. The other two were supporting attackers.

The shield-wielding boy in front is the weakest attacker and can be ignored. The chubby boy on the right can use poison, but it has no effect on her at the moment. Just pretend to be entangled, then suddenly kill Lily.

Potter's son and the other two are no threat at all; they can be tormented slowly.

With a wave of her wand, earthen pillars sprang up from the ground, forming a cage that trapped the unsuspecting Ron inside.

He then deliberately cast random spells at the spreading medicinal mist, seemingly unable to pinpoint Nawi's exact location.

On the left, the glittering crystals were blown away by the strong wind created by her wave of her hand, revealing Harry holding the chain high behind her.

She gave a dangerous, twisted smile, and her wand glowed green: "Avada Kedavra!"

The deadly curse, poised to strike, shot out.

The air hidden around her suddenly trembled, but before she could make a move, Harry, as if he had expected it, rolled to the side and smoothly dodged the incoming killing curse. The air that had been hiding something calmed down again.

"What's going on!?"

"Use a roll to dodge the Killing Curse?" Alecto was taken aback.

Indeed, back when she was at Hogwarts, her practical classes taught that, theoretically, one could use a tactical roll to dodge the Death Curse. But in all the years she had been a member of the Green Flame Party, and even as a core Death Eater, she had never seen anyone actually manage to dodge it with a roll. On the contrary, many naive geniuses had ended up as corpses after rolling around.

Without the use of a death vest, the Killing Curse will always be just as powerful.

She had always thought that the tactical roll to dodge the death curse was just a beautiful fantasy of those dueling wizards, an academic study that only existed in theory. But she never expected that she would actually see it in a second-year student today.

Moreover, what she dodged wasn't just a death curse from an ordinary dark wizard, but one from a Death Eater who was considered quite elite!

Hermione smiled with relief. Harry's fighting talent was indeed extraordinary. Even she herself would probably choose the safer option of using Kalia to retaliate instead of rolling. She couldn't say for sure that she could dodge it.

"Unbelievable," Dumbledore said softly, his eyes shining.

Hermione's Amycus, which she was standing on, gaped wide-eyed and was speechless for a moment.

Just as Alecto was momentarily stunned, Neville emerged from the mist behind him, his head bearing a burning boil, his eyes resolute—the result of being grazed by the curse.

He raised his sword sheath high and slashed down at Alecto.

However, the female Death Eater had already donned armor to protect herself, and the little fat man's attacks were weak and powerless, making it impossible for him to break through her defenses.

Therefore, she wasn't too nervous. She even prepared to use the Ironclad Charm to withstand the attack and then unleash a Killing Curse. She didn't believe that Harry Potter could dodge it with a roll again!

Death's green light flashed again. This time, she deliberately aimed at the gap in Harry's posture after he rolled over, knowing she could kill him with a single blow!

But before the Death Curse could be fired, a scorching, blindingly bright blue blade of light slashed down from behind, shattering her Ironclad Curse in an instant.

Fortunately, it seemed that Neville's magic power was insufficient, and the Kalia Swiftsword flickered erratically like a light bulb with insufficient power, unable to continue swinging.

Alecto was shocked and quickly stopped the killing curse, wanting to turn around and deal with Neville. She didn't expect that this little fat boy would pretend to be weak and actually be strong!

Fortunately, his magic power was insufficient, and this seemingly dangerous lightsaber spell was running out of steam. He could use this opportunity to counterattack.

Let's kill this fat kid first!

But an unexpected curse suddenly struck her.

"Heart-wrenching!"

Draco's cold voice came from the side. He had quietly gotten up at some point and, taking advantage of the moment Neville broke through the Ironclad Curse, used the Cruciatus Curse he had just learned to strike the teacher who had taught him.

"Ah!" Alecto screamed. Although Draco's desire to torture her was not strong, it was enough to make it difficult for her to muster the will to fight back.

Taking advantage of this brief opening, Neville roared and unleashed all his magic, finally stabilizing the blue lightsaber.

Keep cutting!

Like a hot knife cutting through butter, the female Death Eater's wand-wielding arm fell to the ground, leaving behind a burnt, smoky aroma.

Harry, covered in dust, grinned at Alecto's contorted face and said, "This time, I'm the backup attacker."

Neville, now wielding the Kalia Swiftblade, is still not as powerful as Harry in attack, but with tactical coordination, he can easily serve as the main attacker. The two take turns providing cover, and whoever can break through to the enemy's side becomes the true main attacker!

Although Neville's magic almost ruined the tactic, Draco suddenly delivered a crucial blow.

Ron, who was trapped in the earthen cage, used his Polymorph spell to break free of the restraints. Alecto no longer had the strength to maintain his Polymorph. With his round shield on his head, he charged at Alecto like a bull, snatched the wand from Alecto's severed hand, and then rolled away to create distance.

A wizard who has lost his wand, even if he still has the ability to fight, is much weaker.

"Ban it immediately!"

"They'll all be petrified!"

Harry and Neville's spell came down immediately after the bell, and Alecto was powerless to fight back, frozen in place.

"Phew~ That's done." Neville wiped the sweat from his brow, but accidentally touched the boil that had formed from the curse.

It hurt so much I was grimacing.

"We've defeated an adult Death Eater!" Harry exclaimed excitedly.

"Hermione said we could only handle fifth-graders! We even took down the Death Eaters!" Ron said excitedly, brandishing Alec's wand.

On the other side of the cliff, Hermione looked at Amycus with some dissatisfaction: "Your sister is so weak."

I thought she could struggle a little longer.

Amicus lay on the ground, trembling, whether from humiliation, sorrow, or fear, as he uttered a few words: "My sister is better at interrogation and planning."

Being defeated by three second-year students is no less than when Lucius was captured by Hermione alone.

Hermione looked at Dumbledore: "How about we throw him over there and do a second half?"

She then looked at Amicus at her feet: "What are you better at? Death Curses?"

Dumbledore chuckled: "That's enough. You can't really make Harry roll around endlessly to avoid the Killing Curse."

"Let's go meet up with Minerva and explain everything to our little heroes."
