Chapter 191 Yamada

Chapter 191 Yamada

The next morning, the children all got up early. Having adapted to the school schedule, they found it difficult to stay in bed for too long during the summer vacation.

Arthur and Molly were both out; they had gone out to work early in the morning.

Only Mrs. Longbottom was in the kitchen; she had already prepared a large breakfast and was calling the children over to eat.

"I'm going to see Mr. Lovegood later. He said he wanted to interview us about our progress.

"Bill mumbled, his mouth full of sandwiches."

"Ronnie, take good care of your friends, okay? If you have any problems, just ask Percy; he'll always be home."

"Hey, we've been home the whole time!" George retorted. "Why are you only looking for Percy?!"

Fred patted Harry and Neville on the shoulder: "Come to our room tonight, I'll show you some good stuff!" The boys exchanged glances, as if they were carrying out a tacit secret operation.

After the meal, the children prepared to leave. The old lady reminded everyone to remember to come back for lunch, as she had prepared a rare deer meat soup.

The Weasel Village is a little different during the day than at night. A little sunlight seeps through the dark green clouds, giving the sky a hazy, luminous feel. Mr. Arthur is busy with something in the shed outside the Burrow, which is piled high with all sorts of Muggle creations.

From abandoned cars to exaggerated tank wreckage and huge steam tanks, he seemed to be piecing these things together according to his own understanding.

"Dad always 'invents' a lot of weird gadgets that make Muggle things run on their own, help us clear paths, or transport supplies," Ron explained.

"Where did Mrs. Molly go?" Hermione asked, curiously observing Arthur's work.

"Mom works at the potion workshop, and so does Aunt Pandora; there's always work there every day."

Unlike Cliff Street, Weasel Mountain Village doesn't have a potion master like Lily. Even with several female wizards who are good at potions, it takes a lot of effort to barely meet everyone's various needs.

If someone has a headache or fever, breaks a leg while working, or their crops wither or get sick, they need a magic potion to solve the problem.

In particular, some difficult magical diseases, such as radiation-induced dragonpox, are a terrible torment for older wizards.

There's also the anti-radiation potion, which is consumed in the largest quantity, but even though several witches would help out in their spare time, the production of the potion was still limited by the availability of raw materials.

Many Muggles still have no choice but to tough it out when they catch a cold or fever, even though they know that potions are very precious.

Save it for when it's absolutely necessary.

"Stay in the stronghold, don't wander out. Werewolves have been sneaking around here recently," Mr. Arthur shouted as he worked.

The group parted ways at the door of Lovegood’s house, a somewhat charming black cylindrical house with three hand-painted signs nailed to the crooked gate.

First piece: Editor-in-Chief of "Singing the Quibbles": X. Lovegood Second piece: Please choose a bunch of parasites yourself Third piece: Don't touch the airship Hermione saw that in the fenced yard, there were many strange and magical plants. Luna was taking care of them inside. When she saw the crowd, she stood up and waved happily, but her eyes still seemed unfocused.

"Want to come with us to the fields?" Ginny asked loudly.

"No, I have to take care of these airships. I haven't seen them for months, and they miss me a lot," Luna said ethereally.

Bill was ushered into the house by Mr. Xenophilius, and Hermione heard a clicking sound inside, probably from the printing press of "The Quibbler".

They also passed by Diggory's house, which was the most conventional of the buildings, but it seemed that the whole family was out, and no one was home.

Led by Ron, the six of them took the path down from the pea hill and circled around to the back of Weasel Mountain.

The terrain here is equally rugged, with rocks resembling a dead ancient dragon, covered with protruding spikes. But after turning a few corners and entering a secluded mountain hollow, a lush green valley suddenly appears.

The terraced fields are scattered in the valley, and many Muggles are already working in them.

"That half is oats, below that are soybeans and vegetables, and the ones on top are beets," Ron pointed out to everyone with great familiarity.

Hermione also noticed that there were many rusty bicycles rolling around on their own, with large water tanks hanging on them. These were made from steam canisters and contained diluted anti-radiation medicine.

The Muggles loudly directed the bicycles, but they weren't particularly obedient. Only wizards could freely control their transfiguration creations, and sometimes they would veer off course, requiring someone to pull them back.

"It's a pity the area is too small. We will use these high-quality crops to exchange for a larger amount of inferior food, so that everyone can be fed." Unlike Malfoy Castle, they do not have enough wizards to maintain a huge ecological dome, where the food and animal resources produced are enough to be exported to various places.

"This half of the plot is planted with flax and cotton, but cotton needs too much sunlight, so the yield has always been low. We have to rely on the wizard to use glow spells to light it up for us."

In this small valley, every crop is carefully tended, and the Muggles examine each leaf every day to ensure there are no pests or diseases.

Wizards, on the other hand, are responsible for dealing with problems that Muggles cannot solve, such as light, temperature, and rainfall.

"And another thing, we need to catch these annoying goblins!" Ron nimbly stepped on a potato monster that was trying to slip through the cotton field, picked it up, swung it around, and then threw it away with a whoosh.

"They dig holes underground and eat plant roots, and Muggles have a hard time finding them, so it's usually us wizard kids who do it," he explained.

"It's a pity there are no weasels on Weasel Mountain, otherwise it would save us a lot of trouble."

"Besides goblins, porcupines are also a lot of troublesome creatures. Muggles will mistake them for hedgehogs. They cherish these little animals and will give them some food, but doing so will actually anger the porcupines and they will start to destroy the garden." He pointed to a section of the hill above, which was specially fenced off and had a semi-transparent glass greenhouse roof.

"We've planted quite a few magical plants there, all for making potions. We have to make sure the thorns don't invade."

"So our job today is to drive them away?" Harry asked with great interest, having never even seen a cotton field before.

"Ginny, you've learned the Glowing Charm this year, so you'll be lighting the cotton plants later. Remember to adjust the light to be closer to sunlight," Ron instructed Ginny.

"And a Stunning Charm would be more convenient for dealing with thorns and goblins," he told Harry.

He raised an eyebrow at Draco and said, "Want to have a contest and see who catches more?"

"Of course!" Draco replied without backing down. This year he had fallen to fifth place in the grade, falling behind in Defense, Potions and Transfiguration classes, so he was very ambitious.

Hermione, acting as the referee, and Ginny together provided light for the cotton plants, but they couldn't use starlight for fear of radiation.

She used gravity magic to levitate her staff, cast a cushion spell, and together with Ginny, transformed into little suns high above, while simultaneously counting for the four boys.

The working Muggles only dared to watch from afar. They would deliberately avoid the wizard's location and, if asked, would say they were afraid of disturbing the wizard's spellcasting. They watched the children play and work silently, as if they were from two different worlds.
