Chapter 213 Hunting Beasts

Chapter 213 Hunting Beasts

While the others huddled together, holding off the Muggle werewolves' attack in an orderly fashion, Percy took a deep breath and used his newly learned Apparition to instantly appear behind the werewolf wizard.

He will turn 17 on August 22nd. According to Hogwarts rules, students who turn 17 before August 31st can learn Apparition ahead of time. Due to Lockhart's influence last year, many upperclassmen have increased their attention to this course.

Under the professor's guidance, they all tried to use Apparition in real combat, but not many of them were actually able to do it.

Although Percy wasn't a genius in combat, he was exceptionally quick at imitating others and had already succeeded several times while in school.

This time, there were no mishaps either. He appeared behind the werewolf wizard with a snap, and simultaneously unleashed a attack that shattered into four pieces.

Unfortunately, he was still lacking in spatial awareness, and the rhythm of his manifestation and attack was not smooth enough. The werewolf wizard noticed the abnormality behind him and he quickly rolled away to avoid it.

Percy shook his head with some regret, but he rallied and began to confront the wizard openly.

These werewolf wizards were about the same age as Lupin, and were remnants of the werewolf era.

They weren't as lucky as Lupin, whose family didn't abandon him and Dumbledore was willing to take him in. Most werewolf wizards were abandoned by their families or driven out of their settlements after being bitten as children.

Their magical education was at best at the beginner level. Even after joining the werewolf king's minions and learning some magic from Greyback, it was still very rudimentary, and they didn't even have their own wands.

In werewolf form, their hot blood prevents them from casting fully formed spells; they simply use magic in conjunction with their powerful bodies to attack.

Its roars create powerful air currents, and it can crush rocks with its claws at an absurd speed.

Percy handled it with ease. Even though the ruthless creature's fur had strong magic resistance, it could only be beaten by the wolf-fox under Percy's skillful torrent of spells.

Cedric approached another werewolf wizard who hadn't yet learned Apparition, so he simply unleashed a thunderous explosion, blasting a gap in the werewolves' encirclement and charging straight out to challenge his chosen target.

"Hey George, there's only one wizard left. How about the two of us take him down?" Fred took off his magic hat and spewed out thick smoke to block the werewolves' view.

"Great idea! Let's charge in!" George unleashed a burst of flames from his top hat, turning Fred's thick smoke a fiery red. The werewolves inside howled and screamed like running torches.

"It's mine!" A voice filled with hatred rang out from behind. It was Maria. She had the Wolf Moon Holy Mark wrapped around her wrist and stared intently at the last werewolf wizard with bloodshot eyes. She was the one who killed her father!

George and Fred exchanged a glance and shrugged, but they were prepared to keep an eye on the girl while she fought, in case she accidentally got into trouble.

Some of the more astute werewolves, before the situation became clear, observed for a moment and then turned and ran away.

Before the others could react, Hogg's death was already a signal. This Muggle werewolf was the one who had retained the most sanity, but unfortunately Hermione would not allow any beast to leave the shore today.

【Ice Fog】

It is said to be the magic cast by an elderly snow witch who taught young Rani about cold and the dark moon.

Crystal-clear icy mist rose silently from the sea cliffs. The werewolf, in a panic, jumped off the rocks and plunged headfirst into the icy mist.

But before it could recover and stand up, a thick layer of ice crystals quickly covered its fur.

Immediately afterwards, a crackling sound of ice forming rang out. It took a step forward in terror, only to be frozen solid the next moment.

It has been transformed into a lifelike ice sculpture.

"call out"

A small pebble, propelled by Hermione's gravity magic, shot towards her like a bullet, shattering the ice sculpture into pieces with a single blow.

The werewolf, with his strong physique, was killed effortlessly in the blink of an eye.

"How boring, why did it run away!" Fred complained.

"This means we've missed one opportunity to practice."

The Geminis regretfully changed their target and had to work with the other children to eliminate the other werewolves.

For wizards, a single werewolf is not a great threat because they don't have much spellcasting ability after transforming. Unless they are suddenly ambushed, wizards are unlikely to be bitten.

However, when these wild beasts reach a certain size and are led by a wolf king, their threat level increases dramatically.

The werewolves, swarming across the mountains and plains, will charge like a tidal wave at the command of the wolf king, and even the most solid fortifications can be easily overturned by the thick-skinned werewolves.

In encounters in the wild, they also employ tactics, utilizing their superior mobility for guerrilla warfare, their absurdly strong endurance to exhaust their prey's stamina, and even digging tunnels to ambush enemies from below.

These characteristics caused early, careless wizards a great deal of trouble. After creating a large number of werewolves, Fenrir declared himself king, claiming to be the ancestor of modern werewolves. He destroyed many newly established wizarding communities and turned even more people into werewolves.

Wizards back then weren't very vigilant. After losing the Ministry of Magic, werewolves were no longer regulated or required to be registered. Apart from having divine prophets, wizards didn't have a good way to detect whether someone was a werewolf. They couldn't just gather a group of people together every time and wait for the full moon.

Werewolves often sneak into the settlement, causing serious damage and creating widespread fear. Everyone must prove their innocence, and deception and infighting are commonplace.

This also led to people later becoming more accustomed to building fireplaces outside the settlement to prevent anyone from sneaking in using Floonet.

The werewolves in front of him originally had various tactics and teamwork abilities, but unfortunately Hogg was killed in one fell swoop.

The remaining three werewolf wizards could have taken over the command, but they were all currently tied up and couldn't spare a moment.

The remaining Muggle werewolves could only rely on their instincts and swarmed forward in a chaotic mass, but this did not break through the children's defenses.

George and Fred pulled out a number of explosive gadgets from their hats. Although the streaking fireworks couldn't hurt the werewolves, the flashy light effects effectively blocked their vision.

Then all sorts of insidious curses were smeared on their faces after the fireworks.

Harry charged like an armored vehicle, and wherever he went, werewolves fell to the ground, groaning. No matter how strong their bodies were, once hit by his hammer, they would lie on the ground.

As usual, Ron acted as a protector. If any werewolves tried to take advantage of the chaos to launch a sneak attack, he would firmly block them. In fact, if he found the right opportunity, he would use a shield parry to knock them to the ground, and then his right-hand short sword, which was also imbued with magic, would easily pierce their heads.

Although Neville was skilled in sword magic, he wasn't foolish enough to engage in close combat with werewolves. He had recently made good progress in Transfiguration, but his method of use was different from Harry's. He discovered that the mercury inside his sword sheath and wand could flow out of the sheath and transform into various shapes under the control of Transfiguration.

So he gripped the scabbard, the mercury flowing like a whip, the fine liquid metal like the sharpest blade, also carrying a sinister poison, easily piercing the werewolf's fur. And if any werewolf broke through his mercury whip, he could instantly raise the indestructible Kalia Swift Sword from the scabbard, giving these monsters a sword magic surprise.

As for Draco, although he doesn't particularly like Heretic Thorns' magic, he has been studying it seriously recently.

Instead of rushing to the front like the others, he spread his arms wide, with two small cuts on them.

Thin drops of blood dripped onto the ground, mixing with the blood of the victims that was already soaking the ground.

The Punishment Thorns were unleashed, and countless crimson blood thorns burst forth from the ground. The werewolves were still busy dealing with these fierce children, but suddenly, the thorns that rose from the ground pierced their feet and skin.

Those who were killed by them before are now repaying them with their blood.

Judging solely by lethality, Draco was actually stronger than the others in such a blood-soaked environment.
