Chapter 322 No Way Out

Chapter 322 No Way Out

"It was all for naught!" Voldemort roared in fury.

The leaping lightning destroyed the swarming fire dragon riders, he spared no effort in using his magic, as if he were also a ghost or ashes like Dumbledore.

But in fact, the two have been fighting for far too long since the start of the war. The long night is already halfway over, and the moon has already set in the west. Even a great wizard should feel a bit tired under such intense combat.

Dumbledore has the power source of the pyroxene core, so theoretically he can keep fighting like this indefinitely.

But Voldemort was still human after all, and his transformation did not transcend the level of gods. His spirit would tire and his magic would be depleted. At this point, he was suddenly forced to face the combined attack of two great wizards, one of whom was armed with a weapon specifically designed to counter him.

The situation can be described as extremely dire.

"I have transcended death, I have enslaved death, and you, you, Dumbledore, you are nothing but cowards who succumb to death!"

Forcing himself to stay alert, the green mist surrounding him transformed once more into a ferocious giant serpent, rampaging through the fire clouds and dragon riders created by Dumbledore. The filthy curses and the magic of death annihilated everything in its path, like a green blade slicing through the sky.

But when he rushed through the fiery cloud, he saw Hermione already there, wielding a forty-meter-long inflatable machete, ready for battle.

Gravity Ball

It is said to originate from the homeland of the fallen star beasts—a magic that exists in the darkness and light of a distant place.

Losing her wand did not affect Hermione's spellcasting ability. After becoming a great wizard, she could cast spells without a wand, even those that were not legendary or origin-level spells.

Bright purple energy gathered in her palm, and with a gentle push, a huge ball of electric light filled with tension shot out.

Compared to the scattered star fragments and gravity spheres, the gravity spheres were larger and more powerful. Even Voldemort, who had transformed into a giant snake, was momentarily drawn in by the waves of electric spheres releasing gravity.

Immediately afterward, lightning exploded, and Hermione's Serpent Blade swung down at the same time.

The towering green mist was cleaved in two, and the giant serpent it had formed crumbled and exploded, turning into dust that slowly drifted down.

Voldemort's wolf-fox form emerged from the green smoke, but immediately Fawkes rushed into the deadly fog of death, spewing out scorching flames. From the flames, Dumbledore stepped out, and ribbons of light inscribed with runes bound to his body with lightning speed.

"Get out of my way!" he roared, unleashing countless green lightning bolts from his body, intending to pulverize anything that came near.

Dumbledore, with his pet, drifted away, watching his former student struggle like a cornered beast.

Now there's nothing more to say to him. Tom has gone down the wrong path for too long, and the crimes he has committed are too numerous to count. There is no possibility of him surrendering and redeeming himself. His only fate is to face the judgment of death!

"You, and your disgusting school! You're all a hoax! A ridiculous lie!" Voldemort roared, seemingly driven to madness by desperation, but in reality, he was already focused on finding a way to break Dumbledore's strange oath and escape.

"This wretched world is not for you to save! Only I, who have transcended death, am the true savior of this world!" The bat-like dark green robe unfurled, as if the gates of the realm of the dead had opened, and countless wronged souls surged out of Voldemort's body.

They wept and mourned, emitting sharp, piercing screams. The thick, green cloud of death, which had just been dispersed by Hilmi to reveal the clear starry sky, was once again obscured by Voldemort's imposing presence, covering a large portion of the very center of the sky.

This action drew angry glares from the centaurs, but they were powerless to do anything but wait for the outcome of the battle above.

Beneath the deathly sky, countless swarming spirits were as annoying as flies, but Voldemort had vanished without a trace. He had blurred his form, transforming into the appearance of an undead, and mingled among these vengeful souls, at least in this way he could avoid being chased and hacked down by the giant snake's hunting spear.

Dumbledore once again summoned the swirling cloud of fire, using Transfiguration to shape it into winged fire angels.

Wielding a burning sword, I will pursue every wandering soul.

Hermione then opened her mouth and emitted an invisible sound wave—Tibia's call.

Since ancient times, the dead have been lost sheep, and therefore need someone to step forward and guide them. The orthodox death magic from the Borderlands has a strong control over the souls of the dead. Those ghosts that approached Hermione were all attracted by the invisible voice, and stood still with confused and dazed expressions. This was Hermione fighting with Voldemort for control of them.

Seeing that even his own ghosts were no longer obedient, Voldemort, hiding in the shadows, became even more enraged. He suddenly detonated the vengeful spirits that Hermione had taken away. Clusters of deathly flames flickered and exploded one after another like a chain reaction. However, the main target of the explosion was not the two of them, but the runic magic that Dumbledore used to construct his vow.

Voldemort wasn't stupid. He clearly couldn't win today's situation and might actually die, so escaping was his top priority.

Besides detonating some of the wraiths, causing turmoil in the magical realm of the duel, he also directed the remaining undead to scatter in all directions to distract Hermione.

The flash of green light destroyed most of the fire angels, and the fluctuations from the broken souls also momentarily stunned Dumbledore, who was also a ghost.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Voldemort emerged from the pile of vengeful spirits and, with almost all his might, combined all the knowledge he had acquired throughout his life.

An unparalleled bolt of dark lightning, a mixture of black magic curses and killing spells, struck the turbulent magic circle.

This strike was truly powerful. The rule-based oath, which was originally impossible to break through by brute force, was actually forced open by him, creating a crack. The tightly arranged runes turned black and shattered as if they had been contaminated.

Seeing that there was a real chance, Voldemort, disregarding his exhausted state, mustered all his strength again and unleashed a killing curse on the same spot.

But this time, both Dumbledore and Hermione realized what was happening.

The White Wizard acted swiftly, countless white symbols flowing from his wand to replenish the depletion of the magic circle, while Hermione once again used Miriam's Vanish to reappear behind Voldemort, her powerful Serpent Hunting Spear slashing towards his bald, pale head.

In the critical moment, Voldemort realized that he could not deliver the attack, so he had no choice but to withdraw, turning back into green smoke and disappearing into the horde of vengeful spirits.

"Senior, this is too embarrassing." Hermione shook her head helplessly.

The once-powerful dark wizard, who dominated the scene for decades, can now only hide and try to slip away at any opportunity.

She raised the large serpent spear in her hand: "Let me extinguish your last vestige of hope!"

As she swung the bone spear, the two basilisk eyes embedded in it seemed to come alive, radiating a strong yellow light in all directions, and a series of unpleasant hissing sounds came from the venomous fangs at the tip of the spear.
