Chapter 457 A Sudden Turn of Events

In the blink of an eye, she vanished from her spot and reappeared behind Zorian.

The cane was raised high, faster than a phantom or lightning, and struck the boy who had no time to dodge with a sharp crack.

The vine seemed to have the effect of electric shock and mental pollution. Even though it was just a lash, Zorian screamed and flew backward into Boyang's arms.

Everything happened so fast that the other children hadn't even had time to react.

Grimsell reappeared, his enormous body seemingly real yet illusory, appearing ghost-like behind Blanislava once more, raising his cane again.

"Get away!" Metek noticed the danger to his older sister, and Lelek responded immediately.

The sharp claws and beak attacked desperately, but the woman, who was one with Khabots, simply stretched out her other hand and held Lelek firmly in her grasp.

The brief entanglement prompted the Goddess of Winter to rush back to the rescue, unleashing a deadly blast of frost. However, the vines fell mercilessly, scattering the frost and Morana while simultaneously sending Blanislava flying once more.

Yashbik quickly caught his eldest sister, and Lin Yao manipulated the thorns to surge forward.

But Grimsell simply tossed the Lelek in his hand, forcing her to change tactics and turn the thorns into soft leaves.

"Get away from that vine! Neither we nor the mythical creatures can be touched!" Rice shouted.

Bukavach narrowly dodged the blow, dragging Bojan and Zorian back with him.

Seeing that the situation was not good, Levi controlled the golem to abandon the attack on the outer blood servants and guards, turned around and punched Grimsell, who was invincible.

The attack was effective; heavy earth and rocks crashed down, forcing the old woman to dodge.

Her vines are extremely threatening to humans and mythical creatures, but they are completely ineffective against inanimate earth and rocks.

"Completely healed!"

Dragging the convulsing Zorrian and the unconscious Branislava together, Rice summoned the town's resident Ni to make a wish.

The next moment, the spirit of fire produced a crystal-clear golden nectar from its palm.

The dew fell on their faces, and their condition immediately improved.

But this came at a price; Rice visibly weakened, as if the treatment was draining his spirit.

Grindelwald stood at the bottom of the broken staircase, watching the people fighting amongst themselves.

"I basically understand now," he said softly.

"From physical conception, through maturation to separation, it can reunite with the body once it becomes strong enough."

"The final form of the mythical species should be a physical entity similar to a demon, but more flexible, able to switch freely between the real and the illusory, able to separate and carry out the master's orders, and also able to transform a flesh-and-blood wizard into a god-like being after returning to the body."

Hermione glanced at him. "Then you'd have to be at least a Grand Wizard, right?"

She could tell that the middle-aged woman was very strong, roughly equivalent to the level of a professor at a regular magic school. She had received over thirty years of scientific magic education from Muggles and had perfectly implemented it.

The fact that these children were able to barely hold her off only shows that the mythical species have a high minimum standard and each has its own unique function.

"They won't last long," Grindelwald asserted.

Sure enough, as Drazco plunged into the pit, Upier tied up the forest demon and Bukavac, and the balance of power began to shift.

Once recovered, Zorrian and Branislava could only command their respective mythical creatures to struggle against Grimsel, or rather, Levi's golem was primarily responsible for the direct confrontation, as it was the only one capable of withstanding the vines' whipping.

Whether it's Veles, Morana, or Lylek, they can only be pulled back and caused some minor obstacles. The life supervisors who can appear out of thin air like mythical creatures are just like Lockhart who is skilled in apparition. The children who lack combat experience find it quite difficult to deal with them.

The golem, though incredibly strong, was slow-moving and could only be manipulated by Grimsell. Unbeknownst to them, the seven children were led to scatter throughout the pit.

In order to avoid being hit, they had no choice but to dodge and had no way to stick together.

Metek had Lylek drag the dazed Rice along, while he pulled Levi, who was focused on manipulating the golem, and hid behind the collapsed planks and low walls as much as possible.

The God of Transformation drew springs from the ground, and the towering water columns obscured the enemy's vision, making it inconvenient for Grimsell to teleport freely.

Morana then manipulated the water flow, transforming it into frigid ice spikes, further blocking its path of advance and relocation.

Zorian and Branislava are the most obvious weaknesses; the supervisor only needs to chase after them and beat them up.

Bojan and Yashbik were willing to help, but Drazko was no pushover either. Relying on his powerful vampire physique, he was able to withstand the combined damage from the curved blades.

These two sixteen- or seventeen-year-old children were far inferior to each other in terms of physical strength and power.

Finally, taking advantage of the water curtain created by Veles obscuring their vision, Grimsell suddenly and mysteriously appeared in front of Metek.

Lelek screamed, sending out rings of sound waves, its feathers fluttering and kicking up clouds of dust.

An invisible force pulled the group away, and they quickly fled under the cover of dust.

But Kharchatz's large hand had already penetrated deep into the dust, grabbing one of them in one swift motion.

Rice again!

The unfortunate boy healed Zorian and Branislava, but he himself lost his fighting ability.

The god of transformation and the goddess of winter have arrived as quickly as possible, and the restless earth and the chill of death are simultaneously sweeping in.

But the woman was once again faster, disappearing and reappearing above the pit.

Black sludge flowed from his palm, transforming back into binding straps that bound the defenseless Rice.

She handed the prisoner over to the guards behind her and ordered them to put the boy back on the iron-like restraints.

"If there are any more problems, you can all die!" she coldly ordered, then jumped down again, intending to grab the other children one by one.

"We can't withstand their attacks head-on, and our mobility is completely inferior. We can't fight this." Hermione shook her head.

Just like her battle with Lockhart back then, although her mobility was no match for his, she was not only able to completely defend against Lockhart's surprise attacks, but she could even effectively counterattack.

"Adam, go help them," Grindelwald said.

"Remember to conceal your robot identity and only use hand-to-hand combat techniques."

This was clearly an attempt to test the robot boy's abilities. If it were a real person, the other party might object, but Adam wouldn't. He picked up the Viles curse-breaking sword that Hermione had given him and was about to leap into the arena.

"Wait!" Hermione called out to him, then thought for a moment.

He pulled a thick-covered book from his bag: "Seeking Light in the Darkness: The Curse-Breaking Method".

"Take this with you." It was a book Hermione had been reading recently, and she suddenly had an idea. Since Adam was going to play the role,

How about I become a test subject?
