Hogwarts Wasteland: The Witch from the Borderlands

Chapter 472 Arrival of Various Schools

Chapter 472 Arrival of Various Schools

Chapter 472 Arrival of Various Schools

Grindelwald was so angry that he went into seclusion.

He locked himself in the palace on the third floor of the Iron Tower and refused to see anyone.

Hermione didn't know what the Aurora Messenger said that made him so angry, but at least through the door, she could tell that the old man was in pretty good spirits.

While nagging on and on, he also put her in charge of all the affairs in the early stages of the competition.

This made the Finger Witch highly suspect that he was using anger as an excuse to cancel all his work.

However, she didn't have much time to complain. She had just moved her workstation to the library on the second floor when the schools arrived one after another.

Durmstrang, who arrived first, felt like they were coming home to New Paris, still on the same black ship that had once supported Hogwarts.

However, this time it did not bring large areas of lava.

Under the guidance of the pilot, it suddenly rose from the Seine, carrying dirty algae and silt, and came to rest on the empty dock specially prepared for it.

Ms. Rozier was still leading the group. Although according to the rules from two hundred years ago, the principal should have led the group, Principal Grindelwald wanted to attend in a higher capacity, so he entrusted the entire responsibility to her.

The students' leader was naturally Krum. As soon as he disembarked, he looked around, seemingly searching for Hermione. However, the people sent to greet them were just ordinary officials, who were considered part of the Malachi Party's own faction and didn't need any pomp or circumstance.

Then, just half a day later, came the sales department carriages from Beauxbatons, which neighed as they descended from the sky and landed in the area specially designated for them.

Mrs. Maxim and Fleur stepped out of the car together, followed by a group of professors, sales managers, and cautious students.

However, their welcoming ceremony was quite ordinary; they simply sent Saint Nagel, an acquaintance of Beauxbatons, to greet them.

This alchemy school never forgets its identity, and before the Seven Kingdoms Tournament even started, they opened their carriages for business, offering all customers a 20% discount, just like the Hogwarts scheme.

Old Nagel was somewhat dissatisfied with this behavior, which turned the once orderly New Paris into a bustling and noisy marketplace.

Hermione thought it was great. Life in the city was usually very depressing, and there wasn't much new or interesting stuff. It would be nice if the big shopping mall could liven things up a bit.

Of course, it wasn't because she deliberately wanted to go against old Najjar.

The day after Beauxbatons arrived, Hogwarts also arrived.

Hermione had no idea how her school would arrive until she saw that shaky, long-legged building that looked like a clock tower or a magic tower.

"Did they dismantle part of Hogwarts?" she asked, looking at the tower that was running towards her on foot, with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.

Of course, she came to greet her own school in person.

As the tall building crashed to the ground, Professor McGonagall, Moody, Cedric, and Harry, all beaming with joy, emerged from the doorway.

"Hermione! I'm here too! I'm also representing Hogwarts in the battle!"

The witch greeted them with a smile, pretending to be an adult as she gestured for Harry to return to the group, while exchanging pleasantries with the professor.

Only then did she notice that Moody's face was covered in bruises.

"What are you doing here?"

The grumpy old wizard blushed slightly, a rare occurrence for him. His demonic eyes darted around rapidly, and he coughed twice without answering.

Harry couldn't help but laugh out loud, and McGonagall glared at him.

The old woman sighed helplessly: "He was beaten by Hilmi."

Hermione nearly jumped up in shock. "He's rebelling!"

Normally, even though his male body is unruly, he can still distinguish between what is important and what is urgent. Why would he suddenly attack the professor?

Harry suppressed a laugh and said, "It was George and Fred who started this, saying that you have to have a fight with the Defense & Defence professor every year in Practical Combat."

"Since you weren't here this year, they've been targeting Hilmi—"

At this point, Hermione basically understood what was going on.

Old Moody was a strong-willed person, and when he first started taking care of the children, he definitely wanted to establish some prestige for himself.

Even knowing he was no match for Hilmi, he couldn't afford to back down in that situation. Plus, Hilmi was known for her energetic and unpredictable nature; with the students' constant encouragement, she certainly wouldn't refuse.

But he should at least have given Moody some face! He should have stopped there!

Her face darkened. "Hopefully, he can overcome the Winter's Curse during his time at Hogwarts, otherwise no one can save him!"

Moody, on the other hand, tried to comfort him: "He didn't mean it. We were both giving it our all, it's normal to lose control—"

"If he had truly given it his all, he might never have seen you again."

Hermione kept these words to herself.

"Besides, Minerva has already made him stay at the school, which is worse than killing him."

That's true. The Battle of the Seven is such a big event, and he can't come to watch. Hermione noticed that the Weasley twins were also peeking around in the back, and even Neville, Ron, Draco, and others were there.

Clearly, he was the only one who was "not invited".

This can be considered the maximum punishment he could receive.

After much persuasion from everyone, Hermione finally calmed down.

She turned her gaze to the tower: "Was this taken directly from Hogwarts? I never imagined it could be done like this."

What was originally a single castle has somehow managed to "go its own way".

McGonagall smiled and nodded: "Hilmi also deserves credit for this. It just so happened that the House of Requirement needed repairs, so we separated it out. However, although it is thousands of miles away, it is still powered by the splendid core."

Hermione nodded knowingly. The Room of Requirement had been blown up by Voldemort, so this time it had obviously been upgraded into a standalone building.

It can create a huge space inside, and can be changed at any time according to needs. It also has advanced remote power supply technology, which is more powerful than flying carriages or warships.

All three of Europe's long-established schools have arrived, setting up camp around the Eiffel Tower on the surrounding grass. Their contrasting styles look rather incongruous, but that's how wizards always are.

Hermione didn't have to wait long; in the following days, the remaining three schools arrived one by one.

The mode of transportation for Vagado is a wooden house towed by countless sail-like kites, which looks like a large gondola, and is surrounded by many birds such as flamingos, great blue herons, and African marabou storks.

They weren't actually birds; they were all wearing gas mask-like equipment and were professors and students from this renowned African school with a thousand-year history of expertise in shapeshifting.

Only those who haven't mastered animal form, or whose animal form can't fly, stay in the "basket house".

Then came Evamoni, who also came down from the sky, two adult thunderbirds with breathing apparatus, bringing a cloud of thunder with their cries. They were both wearing reins, and behind the reins was a long, old-fashioned Muggle train.

Steam billowed from the front of the train, accompanied by the sound of a horn, and it sped towards us amidst thunder and lightning.

"The Storm Train? That looks really cool."

However, this method of modifying Muggle creations aroused the dissatisfaction of the Malay wizards, who disliked anything with a strong sense of technology, especially these metal lumps.

Finally, there's Castorbühel, a school deep in the South American rainforest that was badly damaged by Grindelwald. After Hermione extinguished the Fiendfire, things got much better for it.

This time they traveled in a long, narrow boat, like a canoe, its hull covered with vines, plants, and unknown flowers.

It depicts patterns reminiscent of rainforests and took a long time to sail to reach New Paris.
