Chapter 476 For Whom Are the Warriors?

Chapter 476 For Whom Are the Warriors?

Chapter 476 For Whom Are the Warriors?

This afternoon, when the Flame Cup was about to reveal the champions of the seven schools, everyone was excited and gathered in the auditorium in large numbers.

After a week of classes, these students from different cultures have gotten to know each other, and many have formed good friendships.

They agreed to exchange letters after the competition and even visit each other's gathering places.

Of course, there are also some conflicts, such as between Harry and his friends and Krum.

As Durmstrang's leader, Viktor was expected to be more magnanimous and tolerant in the almost home-field advantage of New Paris, but Harry and his friends deliberately provoked them, and the two sides almost got into a fight in the classroom corridor.

However, these minor incidents were quickly resolved after the intervention of the professors from both sides.

The only ones not accepted by everyone are actually the six children who represent Cordosdorez.

They had never been exposed to wizarding culture before, and had only received their wands the week before.

Most of the students gathered here are at the seventh grade level, and the professors' courses are mainly for upper-grade students.

Even Harry and the twins had trouble understanding it, let alone these children who had never been exposed to magic before.

Fortunately, Rozier knew his master's thoughts and specially arranged for people to teach from scratch. After receiving Hermione's instructions, McGonagall and Moody also specially taught some basic theories to take care of these children who knew nothing.

Levi and Metek, being the two younger students, were relatively quick to learn spells; if they were in the first year, they could even be considered child prodigies.

However, the progress of others is not optimistic. Whether it is Zorian and Branislava who are over twenty years old, or Boyan and Yashbik who are fifteen or sixteen years old, they have had a lot of effort just to accept the ideal worldview and get used to casting spells with determination.

To the students at the other six schools, they were seen as heretics and freaks.

Wizards trained in Muggle communities have strange behavior, tone of voice, and way of thinking.

Even though they knew through the newspapers that these children were just victims of Muggle experiments, they would still naturally feel alienated.

Some people privately discussed why Grindelwald wanted them to represent the seventh school, since Cordos Dorez had already merged into Durmstrang. Even if it were to be an independent competition, the spots should have been allocated to Durmstrang students!

Of course, they only dared to say these things behind people's backs. In New Paris, where freedom of speech is not guaranteed, everyone has to be responsible for what they say.

Although they wouldn't openly oppose anything, their physical rejection was obvious, as evidenced by the stark isolation of the experimental children in the auditorium.

When Hermione walked in, the Great Hall was noisy, and everyone was discussing who would become the school's champion.

But soon, they all became terrified, because following behind Hermione was Grindelwald, who had been hidden for a long time.

The Dark Lord's face was somewhat pale, but this was normal in the wasteland where sunlight never shines.

The old man smiled slightly as he scanned everyone's faces.

But those he saw immediately stiffened and awkwardly lowered their heads to show respect.

"I've been busy with other things these days and have neglected you all," Grindelwald said in a gentle tone, completely unlike the terrifying demon king who, according to rumors, would burn people to death at the slightest provocation.

The headmasters quickly shook their heads, saying they had a very pleasant time there and that Miss Granger and the saints had taken good care of them.

The old man, who had dominated half the world for half a century, had a completely different aura from Hermione; he became the absolute center of attention the moment he appeared.

Even the wizards who love Hogwarts have to admit that everyone's eyes are on him and everyone has to be very careful in his presence.

The Dark Lord arrived at the Goblet of Fire first, followed by Hermione, the headmasters, and hundreds of students, as well as many spectators and media.

"Today, the Goblet of Fire will select warriors to represent the seven schools and fight for honor!"

His booming voice, without any embellishment, immediately ignited a frenzy of cheers from the New Parisians who made up the majority of the audience.

"Those whose names are called need to take the elevator to the third floor of the Eiffel Tower. Inside the palace, you will receive your first instructions!"

After Grindelwald finished speaking, he didn't move, but instead gave Hermione a wink.

The latter secretly rolled his eyes and walked to the Goblet of Fire, which was placed high above the ground.

The lights in the auditorium were all turned off, leaving only the blue and white flames illuminating everyone's faces.

"First and foremost, the warriors representing Durmstrang!" she announced loudly after clearing her throat.

Immediately afterwards, the flame on the cup turned from blue to red, and with a "poof" sound, it spat out a piece of paper with burn marks.

Hermione glanced at him once and then looked up: "Viktor Krum!"

An even louder cheer erupted in the hall. The entire Durmstrang and the entire Muscat Party knew that their warrior was none other than the outstanding Krum! Krum, the one favored by Grindelwald!

The young man stood up, bowed to Grindelwald amidst the congratulations of his friends, then stared at Hermione with deep affection for a while before turning and walking out of the Great Hall toward the elevator.

Hermione completely ignored his gaze, staring intently at the Goblet of Fire until it spat out the second piece of paper.

"Next up are the champions of Hogwarts—"

She smiled and turned to look at her family's long table. The four of them craned their necks, and even Cedric was struggling to stay steady, taking long, deep breaths.

"Harry Potter!"

The twins and Ron embraced and cheered loudly. The seventh-year student council president sighed regretfully, then leaned forward with a smile to shake hands with Harry.

He was indeed lacking; the Goblet of Fire chose the younger, more promising, and stronger Harry.

The boy with the chain around his waist stood up excitedly, like a chosen warrior in a fairy tale, feeling as if layers of light enveloped him.

He saw Hermione smiling at him, a treatment that Krum hadn't received before!

He took a deep breath, nodded to the professor and his friends, and walked out of the auditorium with a smile.

"And then comes the champion of Beauxbatons—Fleur Delacour!" Hermione read out the third name.

While the selection was also uncontroversial, Beauxbatons was in some ways even more depleted. Most of the students they brought were just there to fill the quota, only proficient in one subject such as alchemy or medicine, and in other aspects they were even inferior to third-year students.

With one-quarter Veela blood, Fleur attracted the attention of most of the men in the room the moment she stood up. Accompanied by a series of gasps and swallowing sounds, this girl who was once timid and submissive could now proudly stand tall and confidently walk out of the hall under those impolite gazes.

Then came Iphamoni, the modified Goblet of Fire, which reluctantly uttered the fourth name; it originally only needed to choose three.

"Taron Strom!"

A boy with frizzy hair stood up from the long table in Iphamoni. He was a little nervous, which caused his clothes to bunch up, and he didn't even notice that one of his sleeves was longer than the other.

But he had clearly prepared himself mentally, and under the encouraging gaze of their principal, he went out as well.
