Chapter 480 Fire Dragon Pass!

Chapter 480 Fire Dragon Pass!

Chapter 480 Fire Dragon Pass!

The Colosseum is located in the heart of old Paris, near the Arc de Triomphe.

A high wall was erected around the huge archway that Napoleon built to commemorate his victory, in order to contain the fire dragon.

Seven not-so-short stone fortresses are embedded in the center, from which come the roars of dragons of various colors.

On the Seine River, not far from the arena, rows of small spectator boats with sails billowing in the wind float quietly on the water. Under the control of magic, they can fly to various angles to watch the match.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the first New Flame Cup Top 17 Championship after the war!"

The loud, clear voice echoed through the sky, and the commentary could be heard throughout almost the entire city.

This man was the commentator for the Quidditch World Cup. He was originally just a reporter for the Daily Diviner, but because of his love for Quidditch, his familiarity with the rules, and his eloquence, he was temporarily cast as the World Cup commentator.

However, his good days began after that. After the World Cup, various gathering places held their own small competitions, and they were all proud to be able to rival the World Cup. Therefore, as an official commentator, he received invitation after invitation.

Later, he even resigned from his job as a journalist to focus on commentating on the matches. Now, the top seven tournament has even invited him to participate, in order to demonstrate its official status and authority.

Two weeks have passed in the blink of an eye, and the first stage of the Goblet of Fire is just around the corner.

Even by meteorological standards, the cold winds at the end of November make people want to bundle up tightly.

But the people's enthusiasm did not diminish at all. After the stands were full, they rose from the port and slowly flew to all directions of the arena.

On the side closest to the Eiffel Tower, in the largest suspended grandstand, were the seats for the seven headmasters, Grindelwald and Hermione, and the Saints.

In the very center of the stands stood the even more dazzling Goblet of Fire. Although it was no longer burning, the fluorescent blue light of the pyroxene still made it quite prominent—this was the new pyroxene core that Hermione had made in her spare time these past few days.

"Citizens of the new Paris, and wizards from all over the world!" Grindelwald cast a loud voice spell on himself.

"Today, warriors from the world's seven best magic schools will embark on the first leg of their adventure in the quest for the Goblet of Fire!"

From the sailboat-shaped stands, people cheered in response.

White sails filled the air in the warm winter sun and cold wind, while wizards launched colorful smoke bombs and sparks into the sky.

Grindelwald's gaze swept over the seven stone fortresses, then turned to the center of the Dragon Arena, where the warriors stood beneath the towering triumphal arch.

At this moment, they stood with Charlie Weasley from the dragon farm, waiting for the match to begin.

"As you can see, the first test is the fire dragon!" Grindelwald said, spreading his arms wide with his charismatic appearance and tone.

"We've brought seven genuine, even more ferocious, mutated dragons from Vesuvius. The warriors' mission is to kill as many as possible, as quickly as possible!"

Fierce roars echoed from the seven stone fortresses.

Grindelwald smiled and said, "The headmasters of the seven schools, along with Miss Hermione Granger and myself, will form a nine-person judging panel to score the warriors. The one with the highest cumulative score will be the champion and take home the Goblet of Fire!"

To be honest, this grading system is not fair. Hogwarts and Durmstrang have a natural advantage. Unless the Dark Lord and Hermione are kind enough, the champion will only be born in these two schools.

But no one objected to this, and only the Grand Wizard could speak to him on equal terms.

The aged Sand Cloud of Iphamoni is formidable enough, while the centenarian "young man" Neoka of Vagado is equally enigmatic.

But they ultimately couldn't overcome that hurdle. They might have been even better than McGonagall, but so what?

In Grindelwald's mind, they weren't even worthy of looking at him as an equal.

The rules are set by the strong, and everyone else just needs to follow them.

Of course, given his and Hermione's ambition, they wouldn't bother cheating on trivial matters. Their focus was on the Wish Cup behind the scenes, and the warriors' scores would most likely be evaluated based on their performance.

"Seven dragons, seven people, but 'enough' to kill?" Harry wondered, shaking his wrists to warm up and make himself more agile.

Hibiscus beside him was also fully armed, wearing many alchemical tools. This was the alchemist's fighting style, and the rules allowed her to carry tools she had created herself.

She answered in a serious tone, "So it has to be fast enough!"

Yes, according to the rules set by Grindelwald, it's not a one-on-one battle between humans and dragons, but seven against seven!

Seven warriors and seven fire dragons will enter the arena simultaneously, and each warrior has a guaranteed chance to kill one of them.

However, if someone is faster and manages to steal the final kill of another dragon after killing their own, then in the final score calculation, it's equivalent to stealing the majority of the points from other players.

This rule is very cult-like. If you are strong enough, theoretically one warrior can kill seven dragons and get all the points, while everyone else can only get 0.

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone's eyes turned to Levi. The little guy looked a bit tense, and after noticing that all the warriors were looking at him, he realized that he had been taken advantage of.

Fire dragons are indeed very strong. Leaving aside their fiery breath and powerful physical strength, just their highly resistant scales and hide alone...

That would stump countless wizards.

But for the most outstanding students in these seven schools, killing one is not impossible; in fact, the best of them are already considering how to snatch a second one from someone else.

Levi, the 10-year-old boy, was clearly the weakest one. He would probably have to rely on luck to escape from the fire dragon's claws, let alone kill it.

In a sense, quickly eliminating his own dragon and then killing Levi's was also a way of protecting him.

With these thoughts in mind, the warriors from each school scanned their opponents.

The strongest animosity naturally came from Harry and Krum.

"You don't accept the result of the last World Cup exhibition match, so let's gamble again," Krum said softly, leaning closer to the green-eyed boy.

"Of course I don't admit it! I stole the Golden Snitch! The team's win or loss doesn't represent the win or loss between you and me!" Harry said righteously.

Krum wasn't angry; his imposing face remained expressionless. "Then let's settle this with the Goblet of Fire. This time, there's no Golden Snitch for you to cheat. Whoever wins the championship—"

Before the words were even finished, a sharp whistle blew, signaling that the fire dragons were about to be freed from their restraints.

Charlie gave the warriors a "good luck" look, then climbed onto his broom and flew into the sky.

The next segment will be handled by the on-site commentary.
