Chapter 287 Dark Schemes

Chapter 287 Dark Schemes

In the Forbidden Forest, although a great battle had just ended, the werewolves recovered their strength quickly and had already begun their second hunt.

Greyback's chariot rolled over a extinguished campfire, and as he looked at the messy camp before him, his hairy face was ashen.

"They voluntarily abandoned their homes and chose to fight a guerrilla war with us in the forbidden forest."

The centaurs are far fewer in number than the werewolves, but they are more familiar with the environment, and their speed and stamina are in no way inferior. Their cursed, precise arrows can wake even the fierce werewolves from nightmares in the middle of the night.

"If we want to completely wipe them out, we estimate—" The werewolf advisor beside him glanced cautiously at the werewolf king's expression.

"It will take at least a month. They're so good at hiding—and the forest seems to be helping them too."

Footprints are concealed, and scents are mixed and disordered, so the werewolves can only search the dense forest in a net-like manner, while the centaurs can shoot arrows from between the leaves without restraint and then drift away.

Greyback was so angry he wanted to tear him to pieces with his claws, but then he remembered the books he had read about becoming a king, and he had to control his temper.

"One month! In a month, Hogwarts will be like an impregnable fortress! What's the point of us even fighting then!"

If he can't take advantage of Hogwarts' recent establishment to crush them in one fell swoop, and instead wait until they are better prepared and give wizards from other settlements more confidence, they will all come to add to the glory. At that time, it will truly become a fortified city, which he cannot handle at his current scale.

"Where's Snape! Tell him to take the Death Eaters and find those centaurs for me!" he shouted angrily.

"We are here to assist you on our master's orders, not your dogs." A cold voice came from behind, and Snape, still dressed in his black robes, slowly walked over.

"Besides, am I your wish-granting Holy Grail? Why do you always dump all the troublesome problems on me?" Snape said with obvious disdain.

"Wolfsbane Potion, the Centaur Curse, the search for Lily Potter—"

"Now we need to find you centaurs. Can't you do anything without the Green Flame Party?"

Greyback blushed at his words, but the number of wizards among the werewolves was small and their magical abilities were very poor. These problems were truly beyond their ability to solve on their own.

"After all that talk, have you found Lily Potter?" he asked menacingly.

Snape, with his deadpan expression, said nonchalantly, "Your werewolf skills are somewhat useful in this regard. We found Lily Potter, but unfortunately Barty Crouch Jr. was with her. That man is not easy to deal with, and they got away."

"The famous Severus Snape wasn't all that great," Graybury remarked, taking advantage of the situation.

"That woman is performing a potion-making ritual, and it seems she's almost finished," one of the werewolves who came with Snape suddenly interjected.

Snape turned and stared at it, but said nothing.

"Oh? What kind of ceremony is it?" Graybury perked up.

"I don't know," Snape said with a straight face.

"We only heard a few sentences; we didn't go into detail."

"You're a Potions Master!" Greyback said in a surprised and sarcastic tone.

"Is there any potion ritual you don't know?! You could recreate the entire ritual with just one glance!"

Snape glanced sideways at the werewolf king: "Lily Potter is also a Potions Master."

Greyback scoffed, but still reluctantly believed Snape's words.

However, compared to pouring potions into the lake, what kind of unknown ritual is being performed seems more intriguing.

"If they don't want to wipe out everything in the Black Lake, then it can only be a worse situation for us," he thought to himself.

"Whatever it is, we must not let the enemy succeed in what they want to do!"

"No! We must spare more resources to eliminate her!"

He dismounted from the chariot and walked through the chaotic centaur camp ravaged by werewolves.

"Damn it, we already don't have enough manpower to wipe out the centaurs! And then we have to send another force to find a potions master who's deliberately hiding—."

Just then, another series of footsteps sounded, carrying an inexplicable sadness and madness. A figure wrapped up tightly arrived, surrounded by several biphasic monsters.

His appearance caused the surrounding werewolves to scatter warily and fearfully. The two-faced monster could trigger the rage within their werewolf curse, and many werewolves fell victim to it in their first encounter.

"The Pied Piper? It's rare to see you here," Graybury said in surprise.

"I've come to say goodbye." A hoarse voice came from beneath the black coin, as if deliberately created by magic, as if not wanting to be recognized.

"The mission I was given by Malfoy Castle was simply to prevent Hogwarts from returning successfully, and now it seems that mission has failed." His deep voice revealed no emotion.

"There's no point in continuing this entanglement. Besides, with Dumbledore around, I can't do anything."

That extraordinary guardian deity caused heavy losses to the biphasic monsters, and even with the powerful control of the magic flute, they were unwilling to face the overwhelming silver light again.

"The giant squid has been awakened, and the mermaids are in trouble in their own backyard. They are probably no longer able to coordinate an attack. You are tied up by the centaurs, and you probably won't be able to wipe them out in a short time."

The Pied Piper calmly and rationally analyzed, "I see no possibility of forcing Hogwarts out again, so let's part ways here."

The nobles decided that he should be sent to hold Hogwarts back, and ideally, to make Dumbledore give up and return to his wanderings.

If the school were to be breached, he would have a hidden mission: to protect the nobles' children and ensure their safe evacuation. However, it seems that neither of these missions can be accomplished now.

To him, it was just a normal mission failure. The nobles had only wanted to try and annoy Hogwarts, and even if they failed, they wouldn't do anything to him.

But this was extremely difficult for Graybury.

After only one battle, the allies started clamoring to divide their belongings and break up, leaving only him, the leader, still gathering werewolf tribes from all over the world, planning to launch the next, even larger-scale attack.

"What is this! What is this!?" He was so angry he was almost turning into a wolf, and it was unclear whether it was due to the influence of the bipolar monster.

This made him extremely angry.

"You cowardly little dogs! Dog shit! Rotten meat that even vultures wouldn't eat!"

"Once Hogwarts rises to prominence, your Malfoy Castle will never be as glorious as it is today!"

"Your noble masters will have to grovel and line up at the gates of Hogwarts Castle, just like they did fifty years ago!"

He cursed and swore, but the Pied Piper listened quietly without showing any emotion.

Malfoyburg is only concerned with its own interests, and now it's wasting its time here without any benefit.

Snape watched this farce quietly. If the Pied Piper withdrew, then perhaps the Green Flame Party could also withdraw. There was no need for the Death Eaters, whose numbers were already dwindling, to be wasted here. On the contrary, going back now would allow them to bring back more Inferi, which would be a win.

"Oh? What has angered our esteemed werewolf king so much?" A cold, slippery voice suddenly appeared.

Snape was startled, then his expression suddenly turned to one of devout surprise and delight: "Master! What brings you here!"

He glanced around and knelt down in a direction where there was no one.

Then, a dark green and deep black shadow appeared out of the air.

It was Voldemort! His scarlet eyes held a wicked smile, and his entire body radiated a chilling aura of death as he suddenly appeared in the Forbidden Forest!
