Chapter 300 Not Dead
But Maria is a shadow beast; she's different from other werewolves!
Hermione has an unseen pact with her, a combination of faith and the beast's prayer, and perhaps the effect of the Shadow Beast, which is what keeps her rationality in check.
These thousands of Muggle werewolves on the verge of madness, they can't all become Hermione's shadow beasts.
"Maybe the only option is to use the sapphire cannon—" she sighed inwardly.
Under the destructive light, these innocent and pitiful people will replace the previous beast tide as the first victims.
However, these Muggle werewolves are terrified of the castle that keeps casting magic, and are currently still cowering in fear. They will only become mindless beasts once they undergo their first transformation under stimulation.
With the barrier and the Radiant Stone Cannon, the castle won't be in any danger for a while. The one who's really in crisis is Harry, who just recklessly rushed out of the barrier!
This guy crossed the edge of the battlefield, heading straight from the shallow water to the east bank where James and his two companions were. His eyes were bloodshot, and he was gritting his teeth, determined to avenge his mother.
His training in Lake Lienia in the Pensieve made him extremely skilled at moving in shallow water, and with the levitation spell, he could even run faster than a werewolf.
He miraculously avoided the earth-shattering battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort. The retreat of the beast tide and werewolves also meant that he did not encounter any other dangers along the way. At this juncture, everyone was fighting their own battles, and for a moment no one even noticed that an underage wizard was lingering outside.
Hagrid was sweating profusely, wanting to rush out and bring him back, but he was bound by a mission and could not leave easily.
The battles on all sides are a long story, but they all happened at the same time. Now the werewolves are closing in again, making it even harder for Hagrid to escape.
However, Harry's good luck ended there. The werewolf sniper James, who had been lingering by the lake, and the Pied Piper Axley, who had been monitoring the entire battlefield, both noticed the unusual boy who rushed out of the school.
They didn't know Harry, nor did they know why he was rushing towards them with such hatred in his eyes.
But that doesn't stop them from capturing the child first; whether to use him as a hostage or to eat him, it's a good option.
The shadowy wolf figures gradually closed in, and in the sky, the two-sided monsters circling in circles also drew closer under the command of the magic flute.
"Get out of my way!" Harry roared, smashing a werewolf into a bloody pulp with a single blow from his magically imbued steel chain.
Silvery-white steam billowed out, and a hazy, half-solid stag fiercely charged towards the two-sided monster in the air.
But there were too many enemies, even a physical Patronus couldn't withstand them, let alone Harry, who was just a half-baked one.
The werewolves, wary of his destructive power, circled around him, planning to wait until the biphasic monster had drained the boy's sanity and happiness before taking advantage of him.
Harry's Patronus Charm struggled to fend off the shadowy figures darting through the air. He felt a wave of dizziness wash over him, as anger and sorrow rolled over his mind like two giant wheels.
Hermione and Hagrid's attention was drawn to the approaching army of werewolves, and Jaime, already in a frenzy, was nearly cornering Barty Jr., completely oblivious to his son's situation.
Dumbledore was even taken high into the air by Voldemort to fight, while the other professors were far away on the other side of the castle. They couldn't even see him, let alone come to his rescue.
Looking around, there was no one who could solve Harry's current predicament.
No, there's more!
"Harry! We're here to save you!" Ron shouted.
Beside him stood Neville and Draco, both with serious expressions, and Maria, clad in silver armor!
They had somehow broken free from the giant eight-eyed spiders' restraints and rushed to support their comrades.
Harry turned his head and saw his friends risking their lives to break through the barrier.
"Go back quickly!" He knew he was being reckless. This was not the time to act like a child, but seeing his mother struck by the Death Curse and fall into the Fiendfire, how many children could remain unmoved?
A fierce dragonfire burst through the werewolves' encirclement. Draco transformed his head back into human form and ran over, trying to keep a straight face:
Consider this a way of repaying the favor from first grade.
Neville's deadly Kalia Swiftsword sliced through a werewolf that tried to pounce on them with ease. Without a word, he handed Harry the white venom and wolfsbane potion from his pocket.
Ron dashed in front of Harry, shielding him from the sneak attack of claws, while his cold, sharp short sword severed the werewolf's claws with a single strike.
"We've trained together for so long, it's not like you're the only one showing off when it comes to actual combat!" Ron replied while cautiously observing his surroundings. The current situation was even more dangerous than at the border, where at least Hermione wouldn't be surrounded by so many monsters.
Maria remained silent as she plunged into the pack of wolves. Without a care in the world, she slaughtered them, turning her silver armor red.
"Let's use the Patronus Charm together quickly, these biphasic creatures are tough to deal with!" Harry wiped the liquid on his face, which he couldn't tell was rain or tears. Under the torrential rain, the five children worked together to fight their way through the encirclement of the dark creatures.
The sharp, urgent whistle sounded again, and the children advancing in a group attracted Yaxley's attention even more. Seeing that the two-faced monsters couldn't gain any advantage with James, he simply turned them around and took down these children first.
Aside from Muggle Maria, the four young male wizards' Patronus were all half-baked, and the silver mist they cobbled together was simply no match for the intrusion of so many biphasic monsters.
Even if the werewolves are unable to get close to them for a long time, it won't be long before they are drained of their happiness and collapse to the ground.
Little Barty was cornered by two top male wizards, and he had almost emptied his pockets.
But he has only managed to survive until now, his body covered with tiny wounds and burns.
Seeing that his beloved father was too busy to care for him, and that his other comrades were fighting a major battle on the other side, he really couldn't imagine any possibility of escaping.
Suddenly, he spotted the children struggling against the biphasic monster not far away.
"Potter! Are you still pressing forward here? Can't you see your son is about to die?!" he shouted hastily, waving his wand to blast away the storm of blades while struggling to repel Snape's Fiery Blade with All Curses.
James was taken aback. He had initially thought the guy was trying to distract him, but in the midst of his busy work, he turned around and was shocked to see Harry and his friends had actually escaped the safety of the castle and were fighting in the shallow waters of the lake.
Beneath the heavy curtain of rain, thunderclaps tore at people's hearts.
"Damn it!" He glanced at Little Barty.
This villain has been driven to the brink. With just a little more effort, he can be shredded into pieces. Even with Voldemort's grant of immortality, it wouldn't be enough to make him die a hundred times over!
But her son was nearby. Lily was dead, and Harry was the only trace she left behind!
Should we kill Barty Jr. first to avenge Lily, or go save Harry first?
Revenge is within reach, but his son is also in imminent danger.
But he should go save his son first; that idiot Snape alone could not stop Barty, who was determined to escape.
James hesitated for a moment, but the next moment, a sudden voice stunned everyone.
"James! Go save your son!" A cold female voice rang out from above the Black Lake.
This seemed to work better than any magic; in an instant, the three-way battle ceased, and even Harry, who was fighting fiercely, was stunned.
Even Hermione on the castle, Hagrid commanding the spiders, and Dumbledore battling in the clouds were all stunned.
Everyone looked towards the lake and saw Lily flying in the air beneath her lifted invisibility cloak, her long hair flowing. She was soaking wet but showed no signs of injury, and was intently holding a box. Above the black lake, the surface was bubbling and faintly glowing, and murky smoke was slowly being drawn away by the box in her hands.
"Mom!" Harry exclaimed with delight.
